Today we spent most of our day driving to get to Spitkoppe. We arrived in the afternoon and set up camp in the bush of some national park. There were these huge granite rocks that came together because of volcanic eruptions that had occurred under the Earth and cooled to form mountains. here was a group of 7 of us who decided to climb the rocks to see the sunset. It took us an hour to climb as far as possible up the rocks. It was really difficult to climb and you had to grab rocks and pull your self up. Rocko wants me to say that it was just like Indiana Jones. We got to the top and the view was spectacular. The most difficult part was traveling down. It was really, really hard to do. We had to crab-walk down some parts and help each other down because the gravel was really loose. There were definitely times where I felt like climbing that mountain had been an unwise decision with my complete lack of mountain climbing experience. We had to make sure that we kept up a good pace so that we weren't stuck on the mountain when the sun had set. We all made it down before sunset and were just in time for dinner!
After dinner all of the ladies were treated to a fashion show that starred the boys of the tour [Rocko included:)] . The boys were showing off some of the scarves that our tour guide was selling. Its funny the things that entertain you without TV :). I got it on film and will be happy to show off Rocko's catwalk abilities when we get back.
Tomorrow we are off to Swakomund where we will be staying for a couple of days and have the ability to do some activities which will be fun. We get to stay in a bed which is defiantly a highlight because I am getting tired of taking down and putting up our tent.
Hope everything is great back in Canada!
