See the photos I will post soon to get my drift.
We have just had lunch from a store down the street. You simply fill up a container and take it away. Full on veggies, meat, noodles, salad, bread, and other delicacies for about $3 Au. Gotta love that! We also had a 2 litre bottle of Argentina beer - fantastically clean flavour. Yummy but now it's time for a nap.
Today we were picked up by the delightful Mimi -Noime (rhymes with annoy me) and went about some of central Buenos Aires in a bus with we three, Mimi and the driver. It was a history lesson with location shots. Mimi is a very proud South American and is obviously devoted to her city. Buenos Aires has some of the most spectacular sculptures and statues in its many green areas. Then we also went to much less affluent areas where we learned the history of the tango, soccer and the river and docklands. It has been an incredibly rich country at times but also a land of immigrants. The richness of the colours on the houses is like a movie set but is the result of the scavenging necessary to build the houses initially. The paint was leftovers from ships in the port and the owners painted what they could each time they got their next batch of paint. The many colours are now maintained as tradition.
