Woke up feeling a bit run over by a truck but am going to push through! I can't be here and not taking advantage of everything. So...
Today we went on the zodiacs around this rocky island, very small with shallow water on two sides. I got to see my first real Galapagos iguana and then several more. There were many sea lions but this time so many more small ones. More babies to goo over!
Then off to a beach around the corner where we went down into a lava tube. It was a little treacherous to begin with. Down very dubious ladders and over slopes that were steep and covered in loose gravel. And then it was pitch black except for my little LED torch and those with lights around me. I've never done caves before and although I had a bit of an adrenalin rush when I started (and you all know what fun that is for me) but found it fine. I wondered if I would handle it but I now know I can.

We got back onto Treasure of Galapagos and moved to another site by the name of Devil"s Crown. It is the rim of an extinct volcano and now rates as one of the best places in the world in my humble opinion! I have now swum with sea lions!!! They simply love to play in the water with people! On land, they are not interested. In water they just want to play and want you to play with them. These are wild animals who come and swim circles around you and come up and look you in the mask and blow bubbles as the swim under you. I spread my arms and one came right up swimming toward me until changing direction right at the last minute. Unforgettable!

As well as the sea lions there was heaps of different varieties of fish, starfish, anemones, but no coral. Just rocks and sand. It was one of the best snorkel experiences of my life.

The lunch was full of luscious treats and then a small rest before heading off to the next island. This was a wet landing and then we went for a walk to find...

Pink flamingos!!!

And then sea turtles nesting...

And to finish the day we went for another snorkel in a cove that was perfectly suited for miniature pirates... But not a Ted to be seen! We swam with more sea lions, many fish and then a sea turtle came along! I dove under and swam behind her and she gave me a baleful backward glance and kept swimming into the big blue!
Dinner was a barbecue on the middle deck. George, the chef on board, cooked a chocolate cake just for me. How cute!

What can I say? It is all too fantastic. If someone had told me this holiday would be this spectacular I would have been totally sceptical, but there you have it... Sigh...
