From what we saw on highway 16, while passing through Alberta to Saskatoon, you wouldn't think there's an oil shortage. Pumps, and rigs were plentiful, dotting the farmland along the way.

Fields of yellow head, wheat, and other crops spread before us like a quilted blanket. We caught up to the distant clouds heavy with rain, and came upon new ones. As we approached Saskatoon the cloud cover cleared, but the strong winds continued.

While stopping for Tim Hortons I stepped into line  with a bunch of leather clad middle aged biker women. Their cheeks were red with wind burn. I was impressed with how they could ride in such windy conditions. I guess they like the challenge. They didn't rough me up, or force me to buy them coffee. Pleasant people really. Looked like ladies you might find in a knitting club, only dressed in leather, with more interesting stories to tell.

We arrived at our hotel around 6:30 p.m., with plenty of time to go for a swim and watch an in room movie. Andre and I bought a Pandigos Pizza and some Coke to go along with it. Great rooms here at the Holiday Inn Express, highly recommend it if you're passing through Saskatoon.
