Today we headed off down the Florida Keys. There are 42 bridges connecting more than 100 islands over a distance of 126 miles, a pretty nice drive. Key West is the most southerly town on the US mainland & only 90 miles from Cuba. As you can imagine it is also very touristy. We tried to find a park near the southerly point monument but it was hopeless so drove in to town a bit more. Managed to find a park & decided to walk back to the monument but as it was a couple of miles thought we'd hitch a lift with a pedicab. Turns out the guy had been to Australia as a comedian & was interviewed by Andrew Denton because he used to ride his bike to all his shows. He also did a bit of a tour & pointed a few things out, there were some beautiful old houses.

There was a queue at the monument but luckily it didn't take too long to go through then walked back & walked round the downtown area.

Easter over here doesn't have the same holidays. Good Friday seemed to be business as usual & even today is Sunday & whilst busy nowhere near as busy as we were expecting for Easter Sunday. We had tried to get into one of the state parks but think you have to book some time ahead to get in so returned home that night

Weather has been beautiful the last couple of days, back in summer clothes again & the nights have been much warmer.
