Couldn't believe that we couldnt even see the middle of the river when we went to catch the ferry yesterday, today was lovely & clear & you could see right across the river. It cost $10 for all day parking but the ferry was free. We walked around the French Quarter & up to the French Markets, then back down Royal St, lots of jazz bands playing in the streets. It was a very lively atmosphere, walked up Bourbon St but it was a bit dirty & seedy, mainly bars & eating places.

We caught the trolley car up St Charles Street through the garden district, there were still lots of beads in the trees left-over from Mardi-Gras. There were lots of beautiful old houses.

It was a bit cool today, only had short sleeves on but could have done with a jacket, the breeze was a bit cool. We had decided this morning that we would stay another night in the state park & were glad we did as we didnt catch the ferry back till 7pm. We really enjoyed New Orleans & walking around.
