A lovely Sunday to start the week. Beautiful, fine sunny day. We biked off to Woodhall along the river pathway as far as the Kirkstead bridge where the Woodhall Spa Junction station stands. They had an open day so we had a visit and browsed the memorabilia and chatted to the locals. Then it was time to cycle back along the way we had come to Southrey to the Riverside Inn to enjoy our Sunday roast. Enjoy we certainly did - roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and 4 other veg. It was lovely and for dessert we had strawberry pavlova and cheesecake. Yum Yum. Together with a bottle of Australian Shiraz this cost us 28 pounds 80 which is about $44.00. Pretty good value. Then after finishing our wine and a cleansing ale outside in the sunshine we wobbled our way home. Another lovely day!
Monday and a lot more cloud that looks more like rain and the wind has freshened from the west. Rain showers are forecast for mid week and temperatures are set to fall to under 20 so summer may be over here. A fairly quiet day today. Mary did some washing and cleaning while I mowed the lawns and then after lunch we caught the bus to Horncastle for a few groceries. The highlight of the day was finding £2.50 on the ground at the bus stop so we invested. Our good fortune in a lotto lucky dip for Wednesday. We were the only two on the bus for most of the 15 minute ride. Home at 4.45 for a quiet evening. Roast chicken and veg for dinner. Yum.

Tuesday has brought cloud and wind and occasionally a light shower with distinctly cooler temperatures though still nice out of the wind in the shade. The morning we spent at home and after lunch went for a wander across the fields and through Bucknall Wood and back home which took about an hour and allowed us to discover how strong and cool the wind is. We are looking forward to our trip to Manchester on Friday. Tomorrow is looking like rain periods and cooler.
Today was wet and cool. Not a lot of rain fell but for much of the day especially from late morning it was quite persistent. We stayed in all day. I was able to check us in online for our cruise and confirm and change seats on our Cathay flight while Mary was able to finalise our New York hotel and now has only San Fran and Hong Kong to go. Tomorrow we will go to Horncastle for a few groceries and to the library to print. Then Friday it's off to Manchester for the big game!
Had nice trip on train to M and the Copthorne Hotel is very nice with a view over the quayside of the ship canal. Walking distance to the stadium and factory outlets so that's good and good. We have been shopping this morning and will soon be heading back to go to the match. Walked around the stadium last evening and bought some souvenirs at the M U outlet to beat the congestion today. Really looking forward to this afternoon. Tell you about it next week.
