Anything you learn from is worth doing, right? Indeed, anything worth doing at all is worth doing well. The first, and hopefully the second of these maxims have been true in finding my wonderful fiancé a diamond engagement ring. I certainly know and awful lot more now than I did 10 days ago about diamonds. The "4C's" were a marketing concept for me until very recently, but now carat, cut, clarity, and err...oh, colour are burned into my brain.
Shopping is far from being one of my favourite pastimes, but I've survived what is by my standards an epic shopping expedition, and I breathed a big sigh of relief when we realised that we didn't need to go to Hong Kong to find what we were looking for. Actually, I was hugely impressed by the lengths that some stores went to to help us out, and in the end, when it came down to 2 choices it was service and a phone call as we were on the metro on the way to the other store which made up our minds.
The ring in question is currently nicknamed, "Shiny Shiny" and I'm hoping it will stay that way for many years to come. I'm also hoping that I'm not required to share my new found diamond knowledge in the near future - one is enough for this shopper!
