Beneath my apartment is a cafe where hours were spent,
For relaxing, eating, sleeping too, this place is heaven sent.
The fish tank windows and retro sofas are Taiwanese,
But in here at least I can practise my Chinese.
A Tsingtao, a sandwich, a fruit salad too,
Then off to admire the wall picture in the loo.
This is my local with a place at the bar,
I've drunk litres of water and tea by the jar.
It's not a hip or happening place,
Life ticks along at a sitting room place.
The music's eclectic, and far from the best,
At least I know it as it's come from the West.
The staff here are friends now and improved many a day,
I don't think I'll return because I know they won't stay.
It's time to be going and head on my way,
I'll take with me fond memories of Yes Cafe.
