Wow what an experience up with the larks at 6.30 (6.30/7.30/8.00) breakfast and straight onto the bikes. Where else can you wake up to ladies picking tea leaves in the field next to the tents, camels taking children to school and a back ground of temples !
A slow start which saw us visit the locals bathing, washing and praying in the nearby lake and then on to a couple of serious hills !
Then through a couple of towns which were like cycling through London in rush hour but 100 times worse ! Steadily we approached villages and wow we are the centre of attention, everyone stops, waves and shouts and if you stop you suddenly have the whole village decend on you
Word gets around it as every school we passed were out shouting waving and generally getting very excited as the "English" were cycling through. After quite a few stops for punctures and two falls - Claire and Ali (nothing serous) we finally arrived at a well deserved lunch break. Wow what a spread including cheese toasties and chips ! (shhhhh ! Don't tell anyone we have decent food just tell them we had curry)
Slight mishap before lunch we came across a moving bush that totally blocked the road three people got round it and peddled on the rest of us delayed after finally getting round it then wondered where the others were. Simon our in house (tent) doctor went back to try and find them, eventually a passing motor bike told us where they were !
Afternoon saw the celebrities (Z list of course !) by now continue for a further 30 miles taking our grand total as measured by Mathew to just over 60 !!! Well done everyone it was certainly a hot one !
As I type in the setting sun, people are washing (outside in a bowl as this is real camping) rubbing aching bottoms and sores and generally relaxing. Shhhhh don't tell them we have to repeat this all over again 5 more times !
No pictures today sorry as we are away from computer but I should be able to upload yesterday's trip around the Amber fort and today's in an Internet cafe tomorrow night as we get back to Jaipur (assuming I can walk that far after a further 60 miles)
p.s after been told off by rons daughter I have taken some special photos of Ron !
Quote by Ron "it's like a miracle, it's unbleavable ! You can't just describe it !"
