Finally after a relativily short bus journey we made it down to Heathrow in the minibus and met up with our fellow adventurers.  We all sat and weighed our bags (yes Holly being over the allocated allowance and therefore offloaded some items !)

After an overnight flight we arrive at 10:40 and are met by a minibus to take us the 270km (6 hour) journey to Jaipur where we stay in the Alsisar Haveli Hotel.

If after our long journey we will look around the famed "pink city"

So it's 2.30am in the morning UK time, 10 am India time and landed safely now a 6 hour bus journey ahead. It's around 23 degrees here. Plane meal was a very spicy chicken curry and roti but overall 5 hours sleep.

Omg was the six hour (actually 9) journey a nightmare take a 250km 4 lane motorway and pretend to start to build it then without warning take away lanes , add more trucks (non of which would pass a UK mot test) than the road will take, do some undertaking and then avoid cows and elephants and with Indian subsistence level life inches away on either side and you have 10% of the picture. Oh occasionally the road finishes so rumble through a field !

Then it went dark- it was like playing a Russian roulette car chase game !  Anyway after a couple more stops (for more curry) we arrived in Jaipur where after dark the city came to life, we headed for our hotel, meal and bed !  What a luxury hotel, which we would be in hindsight looking forward to on our return in a few days time.
