For the next two days we will be surrounded by typical desert scenery - dunes, dunes and more dunes. As well as providing stunning scenery, it supplies endless entertainment in the largest sandpit in the world!
We start our camel trek following the route along the Oued Draa to the well at Oued Naam, where we will settle into our next camp
Early morning saw the sun bright in the sky with no clouds, we thought it was going to be a hot one and it was !
After leaving half of our luggage at the hotel and now only travelling with the bare essentials and a quick 10 minute drive to m'Hamid we met our companions for the next three days.
After what seemed an age loading everything including the kitchen sink onto around 20 camels our camel caravan set out. What a slow bumpy ride ! Around three hours later we came to a stop in the dunes and under a well needed shady tree and a huge rug appeared for us all to sit on and the group of guides all started to make dinner !
Three courses out of thin air including a huge platter of mixed salad and chicken terrine. After the heat of the day passed and with plenty of relaxing we again set out for a further couple of hours eventually coming accross a half made campsite (two guides having gone ahead) in the most beautiful of places with dunes all around for miles, as the sun set we climbed the local biggest dune and sat in awe !
Again another amazing meal appeared which we ate by candle light and after an impromptu sing-along by our guides using water carriers as drums we lade down and just admired the stars including the brightest milky way I have seen for years. 9pm saw us in bed !
