Today we saddle up again for a camel ride around the Erg Sedrat dunes before
returning to camp. In the afternoon we may try baking bread in the sand.

Early morning and I mean early morning, this is pre 5am saw me and Helen (yes I did say Helen) arose to see the morning sun rise, a few wispy clouds in the brightest flamingo pink suddenly made way for the most amazing sight the sun rising over the sahara sands I have ever seen.

We feel so secluded, this is day two and have not seen any human life now since we departed yesterday. The camels who have now all been given names including ostrich joined us in our camp overnight were probably shocked to see two of us wandering around at that time of the morning and we certainly got some grunts !

Early breakfast saw us back on the camel caravan in a huge 6 hour trek around the desert briefly seeing another caravan as we approached the water hole to replenish water supplies for ourselves and our trusty steeds. Another baking hot day with no clouds saw us being slowly cooked !

We all got involved with our guides making loaves of bread just as the sun was setting. Amazing making a fire and scraping out the embers throwing dough into the sand and covering over with the embers, after about 20 mins a fantastic "oven" baked loaf with amazing taste !

Early evening saw yet another sunset and again a fantastic meal prepared, although I think the main ingredient tiredness and "countryside" air had probably something to do with it. After a huge campfire (where does the wood come from) we again were settled into bed before 9, after the usual forages behind sand dunes to let nature work ! Mmmm.....
