Quite a fun day today, wake up to the sounds of Marrakesh and a stroll around the busy streets before catching a private hire taxi for a 5 hour drive over the top of the Atlas mountains to Ouarzazte finally arriving at Les Jardins de Ouarzazate Hotel

Early breakfast of lump of bread and orange juice which goes against trade descriptions then caught a taxi (30 Dirham) the 2 miles to the main square.
With snake charmers, monkeys and all sorts of stalls including someone who was sitting with a pile of human teeth making them into false teeth there is something for everyone here.

We spent a delightful couple of hours walking the narrow souks bartering and shopping for that spice or carpet I knew I always wanted from the ever so helpful locals who seem to have so many brothers that you begin to wander why no daughters ! (you will know what I mean if you have ever run the gauntlet before !)
We even saw what looked like "the amazing race" being filmed in the centre.

After a light lunch saw us in a private car hire travel the 5 hours over the top of the atlas mountains (all 2260 meters above sea level) on some very steep roads that the back of the car was touching the front as it cornered the hairpins. Don't do this road if you don't like drops with no safety barriers.Stopped off at a local co-operative that manually produced the local oil, see pictures below Helen and Donna having a try Early evening brought us to an amazing new hotel all Moroccan inside with rugs and artefacts ! We were staying in a tower !

A variety of amazing food for tea including lamb tagine and lemon chicken...
