Pre Blog

With a lazy day planned maybe wandering down to the beach or staying in the pool (weather permitting) and generally not doing a great deal.

This evening we have booked into Trip Advisors number 1 restaurant for this area La Tagliata
which is a very strange restaurant with no menu !

We have been told we will be stuffed and not to eat much dinner !

Well it must be the first time I have had to put suncream on to eat breakfast !! The breakfast room outside in the patio of the hotel was stunning !! This hotel is so posh we ate with solid silver and my hot chocolate was delivered in a silver halmarked jug !!

A very leisurely day today, absolutely nothing planned, we headed off along the coastal path via Torre Transita (Transita tower) and eventually found ourselves at Spiaggia (beach) di Fornillo

We did not stop long as it was very scruffy, which is a shame for such a beautiful place.

A crepe (and a beer) at 10.30 followed by another beer at 1.30 was the highlight of the day, with the rest of it either sat on the balcony or beside (or in) the outside pool.

We got all spruced up, with Italian chino's, M&S Italian long sleeve shirt (sleeves slightly rolled up) and jumper over my shoulders and shades !! ( Donna said I looked like a real Italian) and waited just round the corner from our hotel for our pickup

Dead on 7.10 a minibus arrived and we spend the next 1/2 hour going approximately 0.9 km in distance, but it was around 5 miles in hairpin bends up the hill. We arrived vertically above our hotel at our restaurant to have our meal. It was voted #1 in trip advisor for the area. You are greater by 'mamma' and then fed by her cooking, and what quantities and quality. No menu, just food appears.

- 7 different appetisers of  bruschetta, mozzarella, basil tomatoes, berlotti beans, chickpea ragu, wilted spinach with garlic
- huge plate of pastaravioli with ricotta chese, tortellini with spinach and linguine with meat ragu.
- massive plate of meat (and I mean massive) Grilled meats, rabbit, chicken, lamb, and beef with side salad and roasted chips
- various puddings

All washed down with unlimited wine and lemoncello

To say we were stuffed was an understatement !!

we got delivered back to our hotel and staggered onto the bed and laid down
