What a spread - huge array of hot and cold buffet.
We now have 45 minutes before our taxi picks us up to take us to the airport, so we wandered through the Place Massena to the sea front. Everything is quiet and deserted on this Sunday morning apart from jiggers and cyclist down on the avenue D'Anglais. There are even people swimming in the sea - 9am in the morning !!!!
The sun is up, not a cloud in the sky and I can feel the sun burning my already red forehead, I am glad I am not stopping out long in the sun today (secretly I wish we were staying here !)
A short taxi ride in a posh leather seated taxi complete with chauffeur with peaked cap along the front and we arrived at Nice airport terminal 1
Now all we have is a boring 1 1/2 hour wait until our flight departs.
Once on board we have a two hour flight with sausage and mash as our on-board meal.... Yippee plane food !!
With a lot less cloud on the way back up France especially over the Alps it was a pleasant flight with plenty to see.
Good job we pre-ordered a hot meal as the snacks on board ran out, plenty of complaints all round by people who were relying on lunch on board.
"Cabin crew that's 20 minutes to landing" came across the tannoy as we started to descend.
Outside the patchy cloud has suddenly changed and up to now I have been watching the fields and roads below us, this has now all disappeared into a thick layer of cloud. "Leeds/bradford airport has blustery wind from the north and light rain" the tannoy continues to announce.
So no need for that sun cream this afternoon then !
