Am just about to leave Granada after 3 nights here. Gotta say i'm not anywhere near as impressed as I was by Leon. Sure it's got some nice buildings, and some fancy restaurants and hotels, so it's probably good for old rich tourists who don't want to get too exposed to reality. But there was enough to keep us diverted for a couple of days...
Went to the city of Masaya to the markets which were pretty big. Big markets like that are always a lot to take in and hard to describe so i won't go into it.
We also went to Laguna de Apoyo which is a lake in the middle of a volcanic crater between Masaya and Granada that is really easy to get to. We used the facilities of a hostel there for the day, swimming, kayaking etc... The skills i learnt diving in Utila came in handy when i had to retrieve a dropped paddle from maybe 6 or 7 metres depth.
Am heading to San juan del sur now, maybe for some surfing...
