We stayed in Biassa for one night before heading to the Cinque Terre; a group of 5 small coastal towns along the Mediterranean Sea. The bus took us up an extremely windy road that made me a tad nervous. We got pizza in the local Pizzeria and that was my first taste of the wonder that is Italian Pizza. Personal, simple, cheap, and packed with flavor! The next day we got up early to start our hike. We hiked to the first town, took a train to the last town, and hiked a good 4-5 hours all the way back down to the first town. The scenery and the towns themselves were beautiful! I couldnt see anything ugly no matter where I looked! We took our time on the trails and through the towns and it was very nice. I took tons of pictures but only had space to upload some. After our hike we had some well deserved pizza back at the local restaurant. We got a bus back down to La Spezia, where the closest train station is, and had some more pizza and gelato. We took a night train from there to Naples!

LOVE THIS! (reply) Oct 22, 2007 15:41 EST by janethames
I absolutely love these pics! Can't wait to see more! Wonder how your taste buds are going to be when you get back to eating things like: Tombstone Pizza! ;-) I can't believe how IN SHAPE you're going to be: your heart, your legs, and your BACK for carrying that pack EVERYWHERE! No complaining when I ask you to go to the mailbox, k? ;-)
Love you,
mamacita

Quanto Bello! (reply) Oct 22, 2007 14:27 EST by karyljean
You could write and take pics for a travel log place. You have definitely captured the right things to make me want to jump on a plane. It takes your breath away.
