Camden is a beautiful little town, paradise for sailors, we enjoyed the view of the schooners in the harbour as well as the view from Mt Battie which is a half mile climb. The Penobscot Bay is an excellent spot for all sorts of watersports.

The harbor is used by a lot of sailing vessels, some really big two-masted vessels. They take out tourists on short trips, a few hours or longer multi day voyages. Costs a bit more than dime or tuppence, but must be a nice experience. Canoes and kayaks can be rented for short periods.  
 
At sunset the light over the water is almost better than a Dutch Golden Age painting (e.g. Ruijsdael). All kinds of golden, Bordeaux, aubergine and purple hues are mixed into the natural colours of the rock. In quite a number of villages we saw boutiques and galleries showing works that evidenced the fact that painters were impressed as well.
