Arrived here this morning at around 10:30am having experienced a most pleasurable Indian sleeper train journey from Delhi.

There were about six people in my carriage including myself and we were treated extremely well by the staff of the Indian Railway.

I made a diary of the food served on the train as follows;

Train departs@16:55 bang on time.

Tea (17:20) - Half triangle ocut white breat cheese sandwhich (crusts off), dry samosa, cake, mango jouce, tea, towel,+tray, mouth fresherner

19:22 - Tomatoe soup and bread sticks with butter + salt + pepper.

20:07 - Rice, Dahl, Veg Panneer, salad + mixed pickle, yoghurt.

06:40- tea and biscuits

07:24 - Veg Pakoras w/ Peas + Ketchup, bread, butter + jam, mango juice

Mmmm!!!! Good food, well looked after. The 16.5 hr journey cost about 1600 rupees - about 20 quid. Sweet!

Arrived in Delhi about 5 hrs ago and have already 'sold out'. It is VERY western here, accomodation is 1200 ruppes - about 14 quid  (was averaging 350rupees for a double en suite elswhere in India and this place doesn't even have a bathroom). I've been to an Indian McDonalds for my sins (no Beefburgers there! LOL), bought a pair of Levis (1200 rupees in the sale), been offered lots of tour packages, suits and hashish and cocaine (usually by the same people) and also had a haircut.

This is begrudginly preparing me for life in a Western Country... and I don't like it!

:(
