No big milestones today, but I guess it was still a fun interesting day. And relaxing, which would be the real highlight of this one.

Woke up with the sun and enjoyed a pretty relaxed morning. Set off at 7 to easily complete the "man week" before 8:30. I hiked with Gentle Ben to the road (a total of about 3.5 mi) and then hitched. The first two cars drove by but the third was a Volvo and I just knew it was gonna stop. Sure nuf it slows down and then Ben says "heeeeey!" to the driver. Turns out it was his Ethics professor from last semester. Crazy!

So we get to town and visit the "Price Chopper" grocery store. I get all resupplied to hopefully make it a few days. Course this means a heavy bag. Why does food have to be so heavy?
Speaking of weight it looks like I'm down a total of 15 lbs now. I am definitely concerned because I didn't want it to dip below 10. This is the smallest I've been since middle school, hopefully though I can go on a protein binge after this is all over and gain it back.

Manchester is a nice small town, quaint but certainly with some economic activity. There are some ritzy stores and places like McDonalds and Friendlys.  I am staying at Suttons Place, which is like a B&B run by Frank. Cool guy and a nice place. I enjoy watching some world cup football and catching up with Bonny Boy who was here and still trying to figure out his illness.

In the afternoon I head to the outfitters and they fix up my hiking poles free of charge. A very nice service including having Leki send me a replacement segment in the next town. I also get my hands on a new pair of socks. For the first time since Franklin, NC. This should be lovely.

I then proceed to sit around and watch TV and eat food all day. Exactly how a day off should be right? It even rains a bunch making my timing seem perfect too.  Phone call to the family in the evening and it'll be time to hike out when the AM rolls around. Always more hiking to do. Someday it'll all be finished. I literally won't know what to do every morning!

Seems that the blog site has figured out and fixed the posting problem so I hope to be able to keep you more informed. Sorry for the "black hole."  Hopefully everyone is doing well. I'm feeling good, most of the body is in good shape, and I'm excited for the next couple weeks of hiking.
Take care
