I hope that y'all are doing alright...beautiful night here tonight. Light breeze, clear sky, view down into the valley, and mild temperatures. Perfect night to camp out under the stars (and regret that once my contacts come out I can't see said stars...)

Got a nice early start from the pavilion in Port Clinton where we were sleeping, but not on the trail. Instead, make time, flying turtle, and I headed to 3Cs restaurant to get some breakfast!! I got the big big sampler: 2 toast, 2 bacon, sausage, 2 eggs, 2 french toast, and lots of ice water. I figured if I'm not paying for a hotel I might as well pay for a good hot breakfast! It was delicious... And I probably should have ordered a second one... But we can't always be satisfying the angry beast that is my stomach!

Next step was to get resupplied. Make time had made the acquaintance of the local trail angel, Anna, the night before and got a ride to nearby Hamburg for groceries. We wanted in on the action too, so when we were going to go knock on her door, she was already at the door and asked if we wanted a ride... Wow, imagine if everyone in the world were this helpful! She needed us to wait a few minutes, and even offered us drinks while we waited (we politely declined) however we did hang out on the porch which was very relaxing. Normally I don't like to sit on peoples furniture, but with all the hikers around, I'm sure we weren't the first dirty hikers to sit there!

So Anna drove us to the store and waited the 30 min it took us to find everything (including once I purchased my tuna packet the cashier accidentally stole it from me! I was so confused as to where it went off to. Every meal is crucial so I was going to run back and buy another, but then she came up with it. Kind of a strange situation.

Back in town Flying Turtle and I un-box all the goodies, eat a late morning snack, and then it's back to the trail. The days hike has many very beautiful lookout points which of course slows us down. Because we hit the trail at 11 our goal was a shelter at about 15 mi. Instead we missed the shelter because the blue blaze trail to get there wasn't marked. Let me say it again... The shelter wasn't marked!! We realized we'd missed it about a half mile later so instead we fill up on water and make the 1000 ft climb up to this pulpit lookout and we are camping on top. I was gonna cowboy camp it, but the bugs are out despite the wind so I'm in my tent but without the rainfly.

Should be a beautiful night, we are already looking down on the little lights in the valley. We are now in the infamous PA rocks section but honestly it's no different from the last 600 or so miles. Sections of really big boulder rocks, but they only last for 100 yd stretches. Oh well there's an old thru hiker saying, never trust anything that someone coming in the opposite direction has to say.  So we did about 18, all in all not shabby and looking to do some real big miles in time to pick up mail this weekend. If I don't make it then I'll basically be forced into a zero... Probably not the worst thing that could happen!! Don't feel like I need the rest yet but I'll
probably need to replace my shoes and stuff.

Well that's about it from trailside. What's new in your neck of the woods? Remember that I did restore my hacked email, so if you don't want to post a public comment you can also email me :)
Take care everyone
