Ibague, Breifly
Entry 6 of 24 | show all | print this entry |
Last night we went to Ibague, a town ´just´ (four hours) outside Bogota, where Eli grew up..its about the distance from corringham to Birmingham, but its through the mountains,we left at about 4.. and it was great to see some of Colombia's scenery, as in Bogota you could be in any city in the world really... The are is kind of a mix of mountainous areas and kind of jungle trees, but as the altitude decreases the temperature increases, even though it was night..its weird- when its hot at night i feel like I'm on ´holiday´ as we don't really get that at home, and ive only really experienced it in Greece or the states...
Eli´s brothers friend took us in his new Toyota pickup..his name may aswell have been Collin Mcrae..my whole body got a work out to try and keep myself in the seat! I tried to take some pics of the scenery but even with the áction/speed of light´ mode on my camera the pics were blurry.
We didn't do much in Ibague, they looked At a house which they are thinking of converting in to flats,we had some dinner, then came home... i couldn't believe we went all that way for the sake of two hours..but i suppose that like a trip to southend in comparative distance for them..at least i got to see outside Bogota..
