In the evening Svetlana cooked us a delicious mexican meal..and we made final plans for the wedding..
monday was our first venture out on the free scottsdale trolley bus. so cute they use old square tram like buses with rather uncomfortable wooden seats..the driver was very friendly and suggested we got off in Old town to explore...This area has been renovated to look just like a cowboy town with saloons and bars having swinging type stable doors all made of wood and wooden decking with places to tie up your horse..lol..
They arrived safely at 8pm and the lads ( including Robin ) all went out on a stag night..
Tuesday Mark took the 4 of us for a drive to Superstition mountains and the Apache Trail.. It was very different terrain here with winding narrow roads leading to great views of huge mountains, rivers and lakes .. there is a legend that a dutchman lived here, made loads of money gold mining and hid his money in the mountains somewhere no one knows where... and so people often come walking around this very uninviting landscape in the hope they will find it.. we however stayed on the road.
.first stop was canyon lake with super views down the river and nothing like desert scenery..
then past the marina, where hundreds of boats and yachts were moored in readiness for owners to sail on the enormous lake surrounded on all sides by towering mountains.. then we stopped for lunch at Tortilla flats... an old town from the wild west where wagon trains stopped on their journey from Pheonix to New Mexico.. it was really cute more wooden saloons and decking..
In the evening Ian cooked one of his delicious BBqs and we enjoyed the use of the clubroom and pool table..
