The campsite last night was very pretty with so many different coloured leaves falling from
the trees . We walked down to the lake but being so low it was a long way down to the water and so no lake side bank to walk on..
we had a bad start to the day as there was a problem with the converter we had very little
electricity but a phone call sorted out where we needed to take the rig for repair, it was just 30 miles out of our way a shame, still by 11.30 am we were on our way up to mount shasta..
only 40 miles up the road we arrived in Shasta city... we were so lucky that the clouds
opened out and we were able to see mount Shasta in all its glory 20 miles away... the snow covered half of the mountain/volcano and dominated the landscape completely ... this volcano last erupted 200 yrs ago and stopped sending out smoke in 1851.. mount Shasta was awesome it sits alone in the wilderness and the snow was so white it
was captivating..how amazing to get to see it... there are many legends about this volcano but mainly it is an extremely spiritual and energetic area full of new age visitors..
we took a few photos then after lunch and a little bit of shopping we looked back to see
that the clouds had now engulfed Mount Shasta and it was no longer visible..how blessed were we..!! we set off back down the interstate 5 to Corning where we found a cute little campsite on the banks of river Sacramento..the interstate 5 from Shasta to Redding is very
picturesque the road is so wide and winds and curves round the side of the mountains which are all tree lined with both evergreen alpines and beautiful shades of autumn coloured leaves..
