cream gables

todays the day we left the most southerly point of our journey to begin the northward trip we flew to brisbane..

we packed up the van and thank you to gill and anne who leased us their van for the 13 weeks and took us back to the airport...

a flight and taxi ride took us to cream gables, an awesome bed and breakfast in brisbane where anne is the hostess with the mostess , she is amazing fun such an interesting character and so friendly... and we enjoyed our first stay in a real bed and a real bath for 3 months ...fantastic...

we took an evening stroll down by the river to see the cbd lit up in all its glory and walked under the brisbane bridge designed by the same guy who designed sydney harbour bridge..awesome in the moonlight..oh and it felt sooo warm too...

 thursday ...
how nice to wake up in a big comfortable bed....hmmm.. we had breakfast on the terrace with a swiss family, suprisingly not called robinson, ha ha,  as anne likes all guests to chat and join in together on one table, so we spent a good 90 mins enjoying loads of intertesting conversations .. anne is such a must stay with anne of cream gables if you go to brisbane..

so robin went off for the van, while i stayed to pack and sort as we left some luggage with was a bit of a shock when he arrived we knew it was going to be smaller..but eeek...oh well anne had a look inside and thought we would manage but looked forward to our feedback in 14 days time...

so we set off food shopping and a walk along the riverside then off in the van along the highway to redcliffe where we spent the night in a marina car park..

wow warm in the van at last so nice after 13 weeks being a lot cooler..we drove to the seafront and enjoyed the beach front views before heading on to caloundra the start of the sunshine coast..

most noticable was how built up the area was..from redcliffe almost all the way was buildings no countryside at all very different to what we had been used to in nz..

as expected the actual sunshine coast was full of tall hotels cafes and bars scattered all along the seafront with awesome sandy beaches and surfable pacific ocean waves...

Mooloolaba and maroochyolore beach being the most spectacular...loads of tourists surfers and palm trees..after a quick walk we drove onto yaroomba and spent the night in a car park with a great view over the rugged coast..
