there are not enough words that can describe this amazing city, however anyone who knows how to speak hungarian will also know how hard it is.

our trip took us from krakow via the country of slovakia, where in the middle of nowhere, but in winter a budget run down ski field we had lunch. the greatest laugh of the day came when the bar man/waiter/owner/pighand poured the aussies a beer sundae. this guy clearly had no idea what size head should be on a beer. this looked like a amber ice cream.

upon first getting into budapest (staying at the berke sas raddisson hotel, great location in pest btw) we saw how amazing this city looks. Louise decided a good run was in order since the food thus far has been plentiful and delish. she was also spurred on by a fellow tour member (age somewhere between 65-7) after an incident in the gym at krakow, which still brings tears to her eyes. lets say judy was running a bit too slow for the treadmill. Upon hearing lou describe what she saw on her run i was getting excited about the next 2 days.

our first explore of the city was a night bus drive which took in the city under lights. the views were amazing particularlzy the buildings from the Habsburg dynasty such as the royal castle on the buda var and the parliament building on the pest side.

we had a late nite beer and wine just the two of us at 11ish and on a sunday night the place was still buzzing.

the following day saw us take in the sights at day, which provided a different look at the city. its good to say that this is the best city thus far on tour. its worth noting the wines are decidely sweet, but take it from rob the beer is great, except for the slovakian sundae.

we had the arvo at leeeissuureee. which meant lou and I visited the thermal baths in the city park, which is well renowned in hungary having around 15 odd baths scattered around the city. these baths are around 37 degrees and after 30mins in them we were very relaxed!!!!!

we then walked around the remaining city trying to see what we have yet covered.

now we are off to have some goulash after we type this out, and then tomorrow we are off to a place just outside of budapest to see the fiery dancing horses, ride them bareback mind you, and then continue to vienna.

one final word, anyone going to eastern europe or somewhere remotely close to budapest must come here for a few days, trust us you will not be dissappointed. since we are typing this in an internet cafe the photos will have to come later.
