Saturday 12 January: Woke up sun shining. Said "what shall we do today?". Suppose we had better do what we have been doing in every city on this trip. Go for a long walk and take in all the interesting sights - the main shopping streets/markets/Sky Tower for great 360 degs of the city and surrounding water/ harbourfront then we could buy lunch and sit in one of the pretty parks. Then we could have dinner on the waterfront. (sigh) So we did.
Sunday 13 January: Woke up sun shining. Said "what shall we do today?"  Suppose we could take a ferry across to Rangitoto - one of the volcanic islands surrounding Auckland and climb to the summit of the extinct volcano.(sigh) So we did.
Monday 14 January: Woke up sun shining. Said "what shall we do today?" Suppose we could walk to the Victoria markets and torment ourselves with the shopping we can't buy. Then we could get the bus to the Auckland Museum and watch the Maori cultural show so we can see the haka. Then we could meander back into the city one last time before getting ready to leave for the Bay of Islands tomorrow. (sigh)So we did.
