Day 13

I rocked up at Bangkok airport and headed down to the infamous Khao San Road. I was a bit bothered by how many farang (westerners) there were strutting about as it was the complete opposite to India where I was usually one in only a handful of white faces. I decided to get stuck straight into the local street food and it wasn't long before the old digestive system was back to its troubled ways - hoorah!

Day 14

I had the day to myself waiting for the boys to arrive (Charlie, Harry and Simon). Walking around looking at the plethora of available cheap rip offs Bangkok has to offer was good for a while but I soon got bored so got onto the beers like the village drunk. Flying solo on Mission Lash is not that great though and I was glad when my wingmen descended on the Khao San Road to provide much needed back up. Needless to say the first night was a memorable one which ended up with us buying a massive bunch of helium balloons and giving them away to street children and confused Germans.

Day 15

The day was mostly spent wandering around like zombies and in the evening we decided to be brave and go to the Pat Pong district and the Na Na Plaza. We met lots of interesting "people of the night" and I say people because being Bangkok it's not always obvious if you're chatting to a man, woman or both ("Ladygirls" as Mum calls them...shame!). On the way there our Tuk-Tuk driver did a wheely - to our immense enjoyment. There were sparks flying off the back and he royally messed up his license plate.

The night ended with Harry becoming simply overwhelmed by it all and fainting in the street. He bonked his head and rudely bled all over the pavement. Some crazy bloody Finnish guy tried to give him CPR even though he was just resting with his eyes closed and Simon had to throw him off. We all went off to Bumrungrad Hospital so he could get stitched up. A helpful prostitute came with us as well as CPR man who later revealed he was in some way connected with the mafia. They gave him a brain scan but we reckon the machine was broken because it revealed "no abnormalities of the brain". Charlie helped himself to some scrubs and had a wheelchair race with Simon. All good clean fun.

Day 16

We went on a day trip to see the Mexican bear with the sore head. He was on a drip but generally in good spirits. We had Maccy D's delivered right to his hospital room which was possibly the greatest thing ever.

Day 17

I went off to get Harry from the hospital (because I'm nice like that) and we left with some nice new souvenir scrubs and a party bag full of strong pain killers. As soon as we got back it was time to jump on the overnight bus.
