The last few days have flown by so I will cram them into one blog post! Yesterday I woke late, dreading the packing I needed to do to move to my new airbnb place. After cramming everything into my bags I headed to the Musee Cinematique which houses one of the best collections of film and movie equipment in the world! It was amazing to see original movie cameras and the illusion toys that lead to the first ideas of moving pictures. If you haven't seen the movie Hugo yet, please do. It really illustrates the struggles and triumphs of those early directors and magicians of the screen. After the museum I wandered the streets a bit on my way to rendez-vous with Gerome who had promised to take me someplace romantique to make up for ditching me at the fireworks. We took the metro to Notre Dame and strolled the streets of the old city and made a wish at the St. Michel fountain. He took me to the Canadian Bar and we had beer and nachos, which he had never had before. Man do they make a good nachos in Paris, tons of cheese, sour cream and guac which you don't need to pay extra for! Afterwards, he bought me a rose from a seller by the Pont Neuf and we kissed on the bridge as the boats passed beneath us. Lol I felt like I was in a movie, clutching my rose and feeling oh so romantique!

The evening came to an early end as I had to move to my new airbnb location, which was luckily just a block from the other as I was dreading carrying all that luggage on the metro again. The new place is great too, smaller but Mika the owner is super nice and even made me a bachelors dinner...spaghetti! Headed to bed early so I could get up earlier today and get some more activities done. Turns out all this walking is making me more tired than I thought...I ended up waking up around noon and had to rush to get to my river boat cruise. The cruise was an hour long and along the Seine, which was lovely except that it was stinking hot and there was no shade on the boat, and the boat was packed so you couldn't really get good pictures. Also it would have been better for me to do it at the beginning of the trip as I had already seen most of the buildings we floated by so I was underwhelmed. As soon as I got off the boat I had to rush to a little wine bar called O Chateau, where I had signed up for a wine tasting. I opted to buy the cheese plate with it since the tasting was free with my pass and boy did they give me tons of cheese! Six kinds to pair with the three wines we tried, a savignon blanc, un rose et a malbec and later I bought a granache to finish off my cheese. After the tasting I met up with Gerome again, and he took me to a lovely little cafe where they serve the best moules et frites (mussels and fries) in the Belgium style. We chatted with a delightful couple from Belgium who sat at the next table over and man could that husband talk! But he was super sweet and kept praising his wife and saying such lovely things about her that we couldn't stop the conversation. The heat and the wine were getting to me though so I said goodbye to my nice frenchman and headed back to my little place to blog and drink tons of water. La vie en rose...

I'm so jealous. Everything about your trip sounds great. And I remember on my first visit (not that there have been that many) taking the boat tour and broiling under the sun. Keep blogging. I'm living through your trip vicariously in Tegucigalpa, the Paris of Honduras.
