Slept in really late this morning...I could not get myself out of bed! Finally dragged my carcass out onto the streets of Paris around one and headed over to the fabulous Grand Opera house for a tour. Turns out that I couldn't tour today because there was a ballet going on, but the helpful security guy informed me that extra tickets to get into the evenings performance would go on sale around 6:30 so I should come back. I love the ballet and to get to see it in a place as stunning as the Grand Opera would be such a treat so I pressed on in search of food. Sat down at a little sidewalk cafe and ordered a croque-madame, which is a croque-monsieur (grilled ham and cheese sandwich) with a fried egg in top. The waiter was super cute and a hopeless flirt, calling me "ma petite francais" and saying he wanted to marry me! He was shocked that I was traveling alone, and said that if he was my boyfriend he would never let me go anywhere by myself because I am way to beautiful! It was so lovely. He wants to take me on a date this week and show me Paris, so he asked for my number and I gave it over...doubt he'll actually call (waiters here are known to be terrible flirts) but it was super fun to be flirted with!

After lunch I saw a movie on the history of Paris which was interesting and went to the Perfum Museum which was fascinating. Did you know that to be a nose, that is a person, usually a man, who creates perfume, you must have a Masters in Chemistry, and you can never again smoke, drink, or eat spicy food! I bought some delicious French perfume that I can't wait to try out. Then home for a quick change into my nice dress and back to the Opera House for the ballet. The line up to get last minute tickets was very long and the usher kept telling us that there would only be a few for sale. Those went to the first five people in line and the usher informed us we could still by dix-zero tickets, 10 dollars tickets for a zero visibility seat. He kept saying that the seats were really bad because you wont see any of the stage...they mostly sell them during the opera so people can at least hear the music. I was really disappointed and was going to leave when another lady in the line said well since we are here we might as I swallowed my disappointment and bought a ticket. I was SO glad I did. The Opera House (inspiration for Phantom of the Opera) was absolutely stunning and I could actually see most of the dancing on the stage. The ballet was so lovely and graceful and I bought a champagne at intermission which made me feel very elegant. It was a great evening and even better that the ticket only cost ten Euros! On the way home I stopped to get a crepe at the neighborhood place and the two guys inside gave me half off my crepe and put extra toppings on it because the sight of me in my dress had their heart stopping! One of the guys wanted to take for a date as well, but I was feeling saucy so I said if he was still there tomorrow, then we would talk. He replied that even if it was his day off he would come in just for a chance to see me! What a charmer! Off to bed a little earlier tonight as tomorrow is Bastille Day the French National Holiday and I need to get up in the morning to go see some festivities! Si on ne dance pas, on ne vie pas.
