Plans changed a bit - we decided that we were having that much fun in Italy, we if we didn't actually break away and get to the countries we originally planned on seeing (ie. the whole of Eastern Europe!) we were NEVER going to leave! We would see Puglia and Sicily at the end (planned now for November-ish). So on the way round to Slovenia we just, well, err, popped in to Venice (originally just to see the Champions League Soccer Final), and errr, left two days later (OK, whaddya expect?)! We spent a beautiful arvo eating pasta with vongoles (clams), local wine (check out the local 'bottlo' pic) Karen at a Venice 'bottlo'

 , and just wandering. Finished up sitting in the sun in St Mark's square drinking aforementioned local wine, St Marks Square

 which to be honest at appox $3 a litre would give most $15-$20 bottles a run for their money. Weather was in the high 20s in May - just beautiful. Venice..I'm lovin' it!
