Hey Guys!
Los Angeles started on Friday and it was really cool! As per usual, we didn't arrive at the hotel until late at night, so the exploration of LA didn't really start until the next day. We got up, (had breakfast), and then headed out into Hollywood. Wow, there were so many tourists. We managed to park the car pretty close, and made our way up to the walk of fame. We managed to sneak a bit of time in the gift shop (these shops have been a big part of this holiday!), and then started the walk. There are so many, and they go on for miles (well it felt like miles anyway). We were walking up for ages, and decided we should stop for a bite to eat...yes, we went into Hooters, lol, it had to be done (plus it was the cheapest place to eat on the street!). Han, I (Neen) got the coolest present for Rocco here...I think he will appreciate it).
Anyway, we left there and continued to walk up. We saw the Kodak Theatre - where they do the Oscars, which is actually a shopping mall when it is not being used for that. They have the winning films written on the walls. We moved on to the Chinese Theatre and saw all of the concrete hand prints, which was cool; some of them are really old, like from the 40s - I'm surprised, with all the people walking on it, that it hasnt worn away.
We didn't manage to do the whole of the Walk of Fame, because there are just so many, and by tthat point we had arms full of stuff from the gift shops, and we bought another suitcase because we have so much stuff, so we were slugging that around too! We saw all the cool ones though, Michael Jackson, Elvis, Ricky Martin and Kermit :)
We left here at about 6pm, after a fruitless drive through the Hollywood hills to find the sign, because we had to get to the Baseball Game.
We got to the game and walked up to the stadium - I dont think there was one person that did not have a dodgers t shirt on, so to fit in (we would have bought them anyway) we bought a shirt each. Got the traditional hot dog (Tiff had a beer), and we took our seats. We had really good seats and had a couple of chances to catch a ball, but it missed us by about a metre. 'Let's Go Dodgers' we chanted (with the rest of the crowd), and they won! The stadium errupted (not that we really knew what was going on), but we joined in with the celebrations!

The next day, we went back to Hollywood, again in search of the sign, and this time we found it! It really is massive! Having seen the sign, we wanted to see the stars, so we took our 'map of stars homes' and headed over to Beverly Hills.
We first saw the gate of Tom Cruise's house, and his bins (I had to stop Tiff going through the bins, lol), then we saw Cher's house, Britany's (Tiff was convinced she could hear the children playing - I'm not so sure) and the Beckhams (well the driveway). The most interesting one was definitely Jennifer Aniston. We saw her house and then a lone woman with long hair in a tinted Range Rover pulled out of the gate. Tiff reads a lot of celeb magazines and informed me that she does drive a Range Rover, so....I followed....Jennifer Aniston is quite a shrewd driver and continued to take corners without indicating; in the end I had to give up, plus I had Tiff screaming 'we are stalking her' in the background!

From here, we left Beverly Hills and headed down to Venice Beach. This place is mad! There are so many people - people pumping iron on the street, people with CD players trying to get people to buy their CDs and just a real eclectic mix. We hung out here for a while and then headed to Long Beach.
We didn't spend much time in Long Beach - we slept the night there, but then just headed down to Huntington Beach this morning. This is THE place to surf, and we did try to get surf lessons, but it starts at like 8am! Instead we just paddled in the sea a bit, and had a true experience of what real waves are like! We managed to get in a lot of sunbathing - Tiff has a burnt triangle on her chest and think she looks like a power ranger, and I am having problems sitting, lets just say my sitting area is burnt - ow.

We have just arrived in San Diego and tomorrow we are swimming with dolphins...if we can get the wetsuits on over the sunburn!

Speak soon, less than a week to go!

Mum and Dad Bain on

Sounds great; you really are making the most of your time in `Merica'. Seems you are keeping to the schedule - worth all the hard planning before you left!
Dad had a good birthday with lots of cards and presents.
Hope you both continue to enjoy yourselves; keep safe.
We are looking forward to seeing you but, at the same time, hope your last week doesn't pass too quickly for you. Still plenty to do!
Love from us all xx
PS We had roast lamb again this week and Rocco had yet another bone! xx

Aunty Nina,
I now know you are in "Merica" cos I told mummy this morning, I am being a very good boy, but was a very sick last night, mummy was out and daddy had to deal with it, he wasn't very good at it and got all panicky. I am fine now, I think I ate too much chicken and rice. I am going to have a sleep now and Mummy has promised to take me to see the plane with Donald Duck on at the RAF Museum again, I saw it last week and want to see it again. Your trip sounds amazing, I like the photo's from LA it looks "well groovy". Mummy wants to know about all the things you have bought. I think she is a bit jelous as all she has here is Primark.........

Lots of Love and Cuddles and Kisses
