Where I stayed
Sooo we have pretty much finished Orlando. We are sitting by the hotel pool and will be taking a taxi in half an hour to the airport for our next flight to Seattle, (and yes, we are leaving plenty of time to get there this time).
I can't remember where we left off, but we arrived in Orlando Airport about 1am and made our way to the shuttle bay for our free transfer to the hotel. At about 2am, I (Neen) realised that we didnt actually have a shuttle to the airport (slight confusion considering the amount of hotels we booked), so we gingerly made our way to the taxi rank.
We got to the hotel and checked into room 101 (conincidence or what, considering that is the road we are mainly driving on down the West Coast). The room was like a fridge. There was a massive air conditioning unit which we were not allowed to turn off, and only had two settings; off or ice box
The next day we made our way to Universal and went into The Islands of Adventure and straight to Harry Potter. We had to actually queue to get in to Hogsmeade (topical reference if anyone knows about Harry Potter). It was just amazing, the castle is huge and the street is just so much like it. The Three Broom Sticks was a restaurant serving traditionally English food (fish and chips, cottage pie, etc) and outside they were serving Butterbeer. I'm sure I have pretty much told everyone by now, but that stuff was gross! The head was like sweet, a bit like cream, and I can only describe the actual drink as off fizzy apple juice. Needless to say, most of it ended up in the bin. They had the Owl Post, Olivanders, the broom stick shop and Honeydukes as shops you could go in to, but again, we had to queue for these. I bought a wand (sad I know), but I fancy myself as a bit of a Snape character, so I bought a replica of his.
Next on the agenda was the castle. At the top of the castle there is a ride, but we just did the tour. There are talking portraits and Dumbledore's Office and a lot of other stuff. As we got to the top, I decided I wanted to go on the ride.
I (Tiff) decided not to go onto the ride, because it was becoming obvious I was having a bad case of sunstroke
The ride was really scarey, it followed Harry on his broom, and there were a lot of twists and turns and practically being upside down; I (Neen) felt very very sick. Massive spiders, dragons, spitting at you, breathing on you...grim!
Having bored you all to death with the story of Harry Potter, that was pretty much most of the day. We did some other rides, ET, Shrek 4D (where they spit water at you in a cinema screen!), but generally had a great time.
We came back to the hotel, had KFC, watcched some American TV (Golden Girls reruns - awesome), and then went to bed. How random is this, KFC give you biscuits with your food and don't do chips. The biscuit is like a scone, totally random!
Today we went back to Universal and went on a massive water ride and got totally drenched...nothing like a water ride in England, this gets you proper drenched, and it is so steep, you really think you are going to come off it.
You may have noticed this blog is getting less and less detailed, that is because it is about to pour down and we are sitting outside, and we have to get a taxi...don't want to be late again!
I don't know when we will be in contact again, its all going to be a bit rushed for the next couple of days, but if we get a chance (and internet) we will do our best.
Ok, there is now rain on the laptop...got to go...speak soon...
