Skansen is Europe's original open-air museum having opened in 1891. It's a huge park where more than 150 historic buildings from all over Sweden have been transplanted.
Skansen was the first in what become a Europe-wide movement to preserve traditional architecture in open-air museums. Despite the drizzle and cool temperatures I visited each of the 150 buildings and all of the critters on display. I gave Skansen a separate entry so you would understand where each of the photos was taken and I could use the limited photo description field to better describe the photo. The buildings were pretty interesting and I was impressed with the quality of construction given the age of the buildings.
