Afterwards we went downtown to see the Mormon's temple. We walked around the Temple square, and saw the Tabernacle, the Temple, couple of visitor centers. There were lots of weddings (saw 7 brides). The size of the temple is beyond comprehension, and the Tabernacle has a cool trait in that you can hear a pin drop on the stage anywhere in the building. It was insanely hot in the square with a temperature of 39C.
After touring Temple Square, Tanya and the girls went home and we took a quick detour over to view the State Capitol...didn't go inside, but it looks fairly impressive from the outside. On the way home, the GPS is telling us to go in certain directions. On one of these "directions", the GPS gets a lot more chatty than usual. We look down at the GPS only to see what I can only describe as a bowl of spaghetti (see pictures below). I am glad that I don't have to navigate that on a regular basis.
We finished off the day at Mayan Adventures, and it's kind of like a dinner theatre with Mayan actors. The actors stand on top of a waterfall that drops about 40 feet into a 20ft pool of water. Some of the actors climbed into the scaffolding in the ceiling and dived into the water from there. It definitely made a bigger splash and the kids liked the show.
