Finally! We landed at the airport in Dublin, and were able to get to our hostel easily. We got to our hostel around 5 on Friday.What a relief after 24 hours of traveling..and it was nice to hear English again. We dropped our stuff off at the hostel and headed out to get some dinner. We went to a pub with traditional Irish music and food. We all got coddle, which is an Irish dish consisting of sausage, vegetables, and gravy. It was really good. We went walking around Dublin for awhile just to see what the city was like. We walked down the tourist district, known as Temple Bar Area. Then we headed back to the hostel to get a good night's sleep.

On Saturday, we got up and chose the sites we wanted to see around Dublin.  We  did a lot of walking around the city and saw Trinity College, Christ Church Cathedral, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Hay Penny bridge, the River Liffey that runs through the city, and the Guiness Storehouse. I enjoyed walking around the city and learning about the sites. I wish we could have went inside Christ Church Cathedral, but there was an entrance fee. We were lucky that we didn't get rain that day. It was windy, but that's typical for Ireland.

After touring, we went to buy Claddagh rings. These rings are an Irish tradition that started in Claddagh village in Galway, which we would be visiting the next day. The ring has hands holding a heart that has a crown on it. The hands stand for friendship, the heart for love, and the crown for loyalty. I was excited to get one and thought it was neat that they have this tradition.

That night, we went out to listen to some live music down the street from our hostel. The 4 performers were god and we enjoyed listening to them. They played the song Galway Girl from the movie P.S. I Love You.
