This is our last day in Mail Pais.  Its a fairly nice place, but its a real surfy crowd and i'm not sure we fit in here.  I kind feel a bit like that kid at school that wears the parker all year round.  No one really takes the piss out of you, you are just barely acknowledged, and you feel like a bit of an outcast.  I dont really feel i have much to say about surfboards or surfing, and im not sure i can pull off "duuuudeee" and hi fiving just seems real cheesey.

Amy and I have tried our hand at surfing.  Amy managed to get up a few times, and today i hired a board and managed to make some progress getting up, so im quite pleased with myself.  But writing this blog now i barely have the strength in my arms to keep them on the table.

Things we wont miss about Mal Pais, are.

1. Eating dust on the main road everytime a 4x4 goes past.
2. Peopls hi fiving and talking about surfing all day long.
3. The strange smell eminating from the side of the road.
4. Cups of tea i made have been crap. Not sure why. Amy says it tastes burnt.

We are moving to Montezuma tomorrow which looks a little more our scene.  There arent much waves to speak of and we have scoped out a nice little place on the beach run by a Costa Rican woman.  I managed to understand her spanish babblings about its not busy Monday to Friday, so im learning the lingo. Amy likes it more because its "hippy".  Still not sure if i understand what that really means, but whatever.

No pictures today, because these computers are crap, and it takes so long i just cant be bothered. Beginning to wish i bought a nice hi spec laptop with me :o)   Oh and some pikey stole my torch, which i am a bit annoyed about.  (Sorry Dunc).  It proved really useful, hopefully i can get another one in Panama.

Bye for now!

Richard and Amy
