We finally figured out how to get the Internet in our room.  If you go back to Day 1, you can view a few pictures of Beijing.  As you can see the air pollution is severe in China.  Not once did we see the blue sky until we arrived in Shanghai and even then it was quite limited.
Today we had an light schedule due to the intense heat.  In the morning we took a ride on the Grand Canal in Suzhou, following by a visit to the silk factory.
Back to the motor coach for a 3 hour drive south to Hangzhou.  We check into our hotel and rest for a bit before dinner.  We are staying in a Holiday Inn in this city.  All of our hotels are modern with great amenities.  Each room has provided robes, slippers, combs, toothbrushes, Chinese tea, Internet connection and luxury shampoos and soaps; this hotel is the first to have a pool.
This evening as we left the hotel en route for dinner, Chinese fortune came upon us,a Hooters restaurant!!. As the tour group went off to yet another Chinese meal, Kyle and I made a detour to Hooters!!  We sat and had hamburgers and a couple martinis....what a delight.  The Hooter girls  were very friendly and eager to chat with us in English. With the American music and crowd of foreigners, we felt right at home.

Beijing 13 million people
Shanghai 19 million people
Suzhou & Hangzhou 6 million people each

At lunch and dinner we eat family style consisting of 12-15 dishes, meat, rice, vegetables, soup and fruit.  We are existing on rice and maybe 1-2 of the dishes.  Its amazing that 4-5 bowls of rice can actually fill you up.....lol
