One hour after take off the captain announced that we were returning to LAX due to mechanical failure. What we didn't know was he was dumping all the fuel into the ocean because of the emergency landing that was about to occur. We were greeted by a posse of LA fire engines surrounding our plane. All 460 passengers were evacuated by men in haz-mat suits. Then shuttled to a waiting room for further instructions. We were shipped to a de-moralizing hotel that wasn't even fit for crack dealers or prostitutes. Several passengers banned together and lead a revolt against Air China demanding for better accommodations. We are moved to a better hotel only to find out that the next flight was not available until Saturday morning with arrival in Beijing until late in the evening of July 1st. I made a decision to postpone the trip until July 12th in an effort to get our bodies back in sync (after being awake 36 hours straight) and enjoy the full 10 days of our tour.
