For the past week I've been travelling on the Oz Experience bus. The Oz Experience is a tour company for backpackers that runs a "hop on hop off" bus service up the east coast of Australia. You pay for your ticket and then book your buses as and when you want to travel; the bus stops along the way in various towns and for various activities that are included in the price of the ticket.

I boarded the bus in Byron Bay, a surfer hang out, and have been going pretty much non stop since then. Having spent so much time in Melbourne I'm now pushed for time to make it up to Darwin for my flight, so much so that I've had to fork out for an internal flight from Cairns, where I get off the Oz bus, to Darwin. Since leaving Byron I've spent a night in Brisbane, a few nights in Hervey Bay, a night on a cattle ranch in Kroombit, one night in Airlie Beach, and a lot of time inside pubs. The Oz Experience is renowned for being a party bus, it's lived up to its reputation. Everyone I've met so far is under 30 and we all meet up in the evenings for dinner and drinks. It's a good way to meet people and it's fun and easy- the bus books your accommodation each night, drops you off at your hostel, and then picks you up again in the morning.

Some of the things we've done along the way include lawn bowling, which is more fun than you'd think; and Zorbing, which involves getting inside a huge double skinned plastic ball filled with water and two other people and rolling down a big hill. We spent the night before last on the cattle ranch. I have to tell you all that Pigeon shooting is totally addictive, I could do it all day long. The Pigeons were of the clay variety so no need to worry Mum. In the evening we had a meal cooked on an open fire, goat was on the menu and I have to say it's not at all bad-much better than the Guinea pig I ate in Peru.

The only down side to the last couple of days has been a group of people that have moaned about pretty much everything so far and wouldn't take part in any of the stuff we did. Bloody Taffies ; )Goddamn it you're on holiday, cheer the hell up. Mostly I've been hanging out with an English girl called Emma who loves the sound of her own voice. She talks for England. I keep a bucket of ice at hand to cool off my ears.

I have grave grave news, my IPOD is dying a slow and painful death. IPOD RIP.

In preparation for going to Indonesia at the end of this month I'm getting a tattoo done, on my forehead. It will read "NOT DANISH". Ohh I can't wait!
