Today is our last day in Denver. The city is quite dull and becoming ever more so each day. The hostel we are in is friendly and it's been nice to just chill out on the balcony and do some reading; pretty much every day since I arrived in Montreal has been jam packed with doing something. Down town is so quite at night and there's never anyone around.
We went to pick our deposit up for the car yesterday. Trying to navigate public transport in a city you don't know is a pain in the arse so we decided to walk it. It was a long way, 50 blocks. It took us about 2 hours to get there and it was very hot. We got the bus south on the way back but had to walk another 30 blocks east to get back to our hostel. It ended up taking up most of the day and we didn't have time to go to the water park we were planning on visiting. After several hours in the very hot sun myself and Charlie were quite burnt.
We found a good bar last night. It was recommended to us be the waiter of a restaurant we ate in after the long walk yesterday. Can't argue with $1 (50p) a pint. A round of shots and a round of pints was costing us about 6 quid. Mauricio would be in heaven.
Travelling with a couple is taking it's toll. More than once I've been left on my own in bars while they're "resolving" their problems. But I tend to meet people when they're not there so I guess there's a plus side to it.

Denver!
it's funny to read a travelers experience of your home city... I could understand it being dull if one didn't know much about beforehand, Denver doesn't make much of an effort to attract tourists. However, you were staying about a mile from one of the oldest successful african-american communities in the US as well as walking distance (10-20 blocks) from 10-20 small breweries. The first hostel you were at was 2 blocks from a 120 year old german club that does dancing every night of the week, as well as 1 block from a music venue were names like Bob Dylan have played over the last year.. too bad it was dull :(
