After a fairly heavy Friday night at the Everday bar (including Nat's VTT leaving do and certificate presentation) followed by the Happy Snapper, Saturday was spent nursing hangovers on the beach.
Nat, Chris, Maria, Julie and I went to White Sands. It's a few kilometres down the down from Khao Lak and is exactly as it describes itself - a beautiful talcum powder white sandy beach in a picturesque, quiet bay.
Soaked up the sun, swam the clear blue bathtub warm water, and read books. Have now finished the Lance Armstrong biog (inspiring story although he's a big of an egomaniac), as well as Beasts of No Nation by Uzodinma Iweala (hardgoing but very well-written story told from the point of view of a child soldier) and now started Life of Pi by Yann Martel (so far excellent)
On the way back popped to Bang Niang weekend market where the Home and Life kids were selling their bakery produce some bought some of their delicious banana muffins and chocolate cookies.
Then spent the rest of the evening back at the Walkers Inn making the most of the all you can eat Saturday night barbecue.
Sunday was also spent lazing about on the beach - this time the one just opposite where we're staying.
And that's how we spent the weekend. Tough work...
