Headed for another sightseeing day in London today. Caught the train from St. Neots in to Kings Cross, then the tube to Tower Bridge. Into the Tower of London for a tour. M and the kids had their photo taken with a real Beefeater who gave us the commentary on the guided tour. In to see the Crown Jewels - all very opulent of course, and some of the guilded armour was pretty impressive too. Fish and chips for lunch outside the Tower, then walked over Tower Bridge and 'round to the Globe Theatre. Too late for a guided tour of that, but got tickets for a show later that evening, so had time to walk further along the Thames to the London Eye. Excellent views on the 20 minute round trip. Walked back to The Globe, and into the standing area up against the stage for a 2 hr performance of Shakespeare's little known (well to me anyway) 'Timon of Athens'. Great atmosphere in the theatre (open to the sky) - most enjoyable. Back across town to a late train for St Neots and home to Caldecote about midnight! Another long but excellent day . . .
