Packed up camp and drove into the center of Innsbruck. Parked and walked into the old city, very pretty buildings, including the Golden Roof of Maximillan the 1st. After visiting the tourist bureau, decided on a trip on the Nordkettenbahn cable car to the top of mountain, for spectacular views of the city and the valleys below. First part of the journey was by funicular railway, which was interesting, and then onto the cable car to the Seegrube at 1905 meters in altitude. Stood and admired the views for a while (waiting for the cloud to clear from the top), then onto the second cable car to the very top of the mountain. Some views to the city through the clouds, but great views of the valleys on the other side of the mountain. Had a schnitzel and a beer in the Cafe at the top for lunch. Had to make a move to continue our journey in the alps. Onto the road and out of Austria - loads of long tunnels (one 13K's long!) on the way. Traffic slowed for roadworks a few times which made travel a bit frustrating. 3 countries in one day, including Liechtenstein - although they didn't want to see our passports! Navigated our way past the very pretty lakes of the Interlaken area. Arrived at Camping Junfrau at about 8pm, pitched the tents and settled in for the night.
