Off to see the sights of Rome today. Took the bus from camp. Intended to change to the metro, but the train line was closed, so crammed onto another bus (along with a million others) that was following the train route. Finally made it to the Colosseum about lunch time. Sat and ate our picnic lunch outside, then organised a guided tour. Excellent tour of the impressive structure - very hot inside. On to a free tour of the Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum. Very interesting seeing the ancient ruins. Continued into 'town' and headed for the Trevi Fountain, where we all threw in a coin, hoping to return someday. After some quiet contemplation under the magnificent dome of the Pantheon, walked back the bus stop and headed to the campsite. Pasta for tea.
