    This message is to help raise awareness for the detection and treatment of postpartum depression/psychosis.
 
     Last December I received word of the tragic loss of an old friend/teammate of mine, Jenny and her 7 week old baby, Graham Gibbs Bankston.  As a victim of postpartum psychosis, Jenny took her life, as well as the life of her new baby.
     Both Craig and I were well acquainted with the Gibbs family, Craig through competitive skiing and myself through USS swimming. They are an amazing, down to earth family, who have both our admiration and respect.
    Although we now live in a different part of the country, we still feel a strong connection to the Gibbs family and seek to show our support by spreading the word about this devastating disease.
