Today Line and I have been travelling for exactly 3 month.! It doesn't seem that we have been away from home for this long. But even so, we actually can't remember everything we have been doing during our travels, because we experienced so much..
This week one can find us in a little town called Blackwater. It is know for its mines, and is actually referred to as the coalcapital of Queensland, where a lot of people come to work and earn good money during a short amount of time. We were actually going to do some fruitpicking like every other backpacker, but instead we were offered a job here in Blackwater at the hotel Capricorn. Since we got here we have been standing behind the bar, working in the bottleshop, the kitchen, the garden and helping the cleaningladies with making beds. All in all it has been really hard to work again, because we have gotten use to not doing anything at all. Hehe.
Beside our wages we get free accommendation and food from the restaurent, which is very nice, when you are used to nuddles and pasta as a true backpacker. There is not much to do when you aren't working, but we spend a lot of time chilling in the bar trying all different kinds of cocktails and talking to the three other backpackers who is also working here - Tyra and Jo from England and Roman from Germany. Even though, I actually like it here I'm very much looking forward to this upcoming Monday, where Line and I will go on the boat 'Spank Me' to see The Whitsunday Islands..! So be prepared for a lot of beautiful pictures when I get back..!
