Where I stayed
The town 'The Town of 1770' is also known as the birthplace of Queensland. When Captain Crook discovered Australia, he first arrived at Botany Bay in Sydney (NSW), and afterwards 'The Town of 1770'.
Everyone we met that has been there, has only been telling nice things about the place, and looking back now I can only agree. Actually it might have been one of my most favorite places. The town is really small, but we stayed at a really nice hostel called 'Cool Bananas'.
When we first arrived I saw a guy called Lewis, which I met in Noosa a couple of weeks earlier. After haved catched up, Line and I were picked up by a true scooterrouter
- We had signed in to go on a chopper tour. We were about 20 people with a chopper each, and we drove around the two towns on a grand tour. After having a couple of pictures taken on the bikes - (The first were everyone yelled 'Scooterrouter', on the next everyone had to yell 'Fuck you' and on the third we yelled 'Extreme') we were qualified as true scooterrouters!
On the tour we met two other Danish guys, Kasper and Christian, which we among others played drinking games with later the same night. We all ended up at the beach, where we had a big bonfire.
The next morning we all had to get up quiet early with a lot of hangovers, because we had signed in to go surfing the day before. The first hour we had to sit on the beach listening to a introduction. As I did not feel so good, I didn't hear that much of what he was saying! But I have tried surfing once before at La Santa Sport on Lanzarote, so luckily it didn't matter. After we got out in the waves it didn't take me long to stand on the board, and I managed to come up about 10 times, which I'm very proud of.. Hehe.. It was a really fun day, and it felt really good to do some exercise again after 3 month of not doing anything but to drink.
When we got back to the hostel, Line and I were both pretty tired, so we didn't do anything else that day.
The two days in Cool Bananas went by really fast, and we both wanted to stay a bit longer, but we had already made arrangement to go and work in a bar in Blackwater the following week, so unfortunally we had to leave.
