Today I took a bus for a three hours ride to Kandy (180rp). Kandy is famous for the Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth) which is Sri Lanka's most important Buddhist relic. The city itself lies around the Kandy lake surrounded by hills. In the evening I visited a cultural dance show and after that I had dinner at an Indian restaurant (Rams). The next day I went to the Peradeniya botanical gardens just outside Kandy.In the evening I visited the temple of the Tooth. Tomorrow I will leave for Anuradhapura. More thumbnails ...
